Relocating to South Africa

This is what it looks like when you decide to quit your job, pack your belongings, and fly over 7,000 miles away to start a new life in Cape Town, South Africa. Exciting, but somewhat chaotic.

I handed in my notice with the tour operator I work for in Boston just two weeks ago. I will truly miss planning group tours and working with my colleagues around the world. After a wonderful farewell party, I carted all my stuff home to Connecticut in a 16 foot moving van. Let the record show, I didn’t actually need the 16 foot truck, nor did I enjoy driving such a large truck, but it was all they had when I showed up to the rental agency. Lesson learned, UHaul!

I’m just getting settled in my new apartment in Cape Town and can’t wait to tell you more about my new life in sunny South Africa. Have you ever traveled to South Africa?
