February Update

I've been pretty quiet on the blog so far this year. In 2015, I focused on more (paid!) freelance writing and photography assignments, attended conferences and networking events here in New York City, and spent time growing my following on social media. Unfortunately, putting effort into reaching those goals took time away from some of the other things I really enjoy working on, like this blog. So, to get back in the swing of things, I’d like to kick things off by sharing a handful of the projects I’ve been working on this January and February that I'm most proud of.

Last month, I supported the African Wildlife Foundation's #ConservationStory campaign and shared stories about my experiences in the Kalahari and photographing zebras using the visual storytelling app Steller.

MasterPass by MasterCard makes it easier than ever before to complete the checkout process when shopping online. This winter, I ended up contributing several articles to the MasterPass Insider blog.

I also started sharing my travel stories on Facet, the new video travel app by the same founders of Tastemade. On a whim, I entered a contest to win a trip to Mexico with Facet and the small group tour operator Coast to Costa and… I won! More about this trip to come, but for now, check out my Viva Mexico board on Facet in the meantime.

I attended the New York Times Travel Show, one of the largest travel trade shows in America. It was great to see some familiar faces and make new connections. That weekend, I also joined an #Instameet organized by Border Free Travels and Dining TravelerScrimshaw Collective, Tida of Tourism ThailandDayvee Sutton and I really enjoyed running around Central Park and Columbus Circle on an unseasonably warm winter day
